Interschool Anti-Pandemic Art Competition - Global Pandemic 2020

Our S5 Visual Arts students participated in the Inter-school Art Competition (全港抗疫學生藝術創作比賽) organized by the Chinese Christian Herald Crusades Hong Kong Branch. S5A Sophia Summer got the second runner-up in the secondary school category in October 2020. . Here is the artwork statement she would like to share with us. . Artwork title: Global Pandemic . This painting is about the global pandemic happening currently in the world. My artwork shows the appreciation for the front-liners who help us such as the nurses and doctors. In my painting, there is a doctor who is wearing a mask and a surgical hat painted over with flags while she is surrounded with “corona viruses”. It symbolizes the front-liners in the world who are protecting and saving us in this pandemic. The reason why there is a crown held by the hands with the gloves is to show our appreciation for those front-liners who are tough and they help us to overcome the pandemic together. The painting is a way of thanking them for keeping us safe and helping us to take care of the ones who are infected with the virus.
