Speech Day 2021

Date: 21/07/2021

Stay Positive, Spread God’s love in the Midst of Challenges

Rosaryhill Secondary School is truly thankful for the presence of our distinguished guests, loving parents and supportive friends who are of great importance and values to our students and our school on Speech Day 2021, a significant milestone on the life journey of our S6 graduates. This year, the long-awaited event was held on 16th June, 2021. It was our great honour to have Fr. Secudino, our former Principal and Supervisor of Rosaryhill School to be our Guest of Honour and to address our graduates.

Our ceremony began with our Principal, Ms. So Pui Ting’s address. She felt privileged to share with the audience that despite the pandemic, our students were still able to communicate and work with schoolmates from diverse backgrounds, which strengthened their abilities to explore new ideas and options. It is of utmost importance for our students to have broader international experiences, sharper global awareness, and a deeper understanding of other cultures in today’s world. Her final wish for our graduates was to keep their thoughts positive when facing challenges, be humble to learn and be grateful for what they had received.

Following the address of our Principal, our Guest of Honour, Fr. Secundino gave

a thought-provoking and inspiring speech. He remarked that graduates should embrace the education, memories and human values they had learnt and experienced all these years in secondary school especially when they were growing in the world with many things that didn’t have lasting value. Yet, through cultural appreciation, it could help enhance a person’s spiritual development. Finally, Fr. Secundino emphasized that we should always be thankful to those who give us great peace and support during our days of disappointment and frustration, encourage and offer those in need a helping hand, tell others to have faith in god and they are all loved by our Holy Father.

The Graduation Organizing Committee further took the memorable occasion into the next level by unfolding the programme with the speech made by the representative of the committee expressing the graduates’ heartfelt appreciation for all those who have been supporting them and shaping them to be who they are now. After the speech, class videos highlighting all the fun and unforgettable moments graduates had in RHS were shown. Parents and teachers were filled with tears of joy when graduates presented flowers to them to show their love and heartfelt appreciation. All the participants reminisced about the joyous and memorable moments they spent together.

After the ceremony, graduates took pictures with their families, friends and teachers in different iconic spots of the school and at the photo booths with the photo props prepared by the Student Council showcasing the special moments to mark a beautiful ending to this special occasion.
